Secure your crypto assets with Ledger Wallet®. Follow our step-by-step setup guide to get started the right way.
Ledger Wallet® is a trusted and secure way to manage your cryptocurrency assets offline. With millions of devices sold worldwide, Ledger is a global leader in crypto security. Unlike software wallets that are vulnerable to hacks and malware, Ledger hardware wallets keep your private keys isolated from the internet at all times.
Ledger Wallets use a certified secure element chip and run on an operating system (BOLOS) designed specifically to protect crypto assets. You confirm all operations physically on the device, making remote attacks practically impossible.
Ensure that the box is sealed and contains the Ledger hardware wallet, USB cable, recovery sheet, and instructions. If anything looks suspicious or tampered with, contact Ledger support immediately.
Go to www.ledger.com/start. Never download apps or software from unofficial sources.
Ledger Live is the official desktop and mobile app to manage your Ledger Wallet. Download and install it from the official site.
Choose “Set up as new device” on your Ledger. You will be prompted to choose a secure PIN code (4-8 digits). Do not share this PIN with anyone.
Ledger will generate a 24-word recovery phrase. Write this down on the recovery sheet provided in the box. This phrase is your only backup to restore access to your funds. Store it securely offline. Never take a photo or upload it to cloud storage.
Confirm your 24-word phrase by selecting each word in the correct order. This ensures that you wrote it down correctly.
Once your device is initialized, you can add accounts (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.) through Ledger Live. These accounts allow you to send, receive, and manage your crypto assets securely.
Start SetupLedger Live is your command center for managing all your crypto operations. From checking balances and sending transactions to staking, swapping, and installing apps, Ledger Live does it all.
Ledger Live is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android. Ensure you only use the official versions from ledger.com.
